Poetry Frankenstein - English and Simplified Chinese

This prototype is a poetry generator, drawing inspiration from the novelist Mary Shelley, the author of "Frankenstein," and her husband, Percy Shelley, the renowned poet with an extraordinary body of work.

The game aims to explore the essence of art and literature interpretation.

When a reader studies an author, what they are essentially doing in their mind is disassembling and reassembling various sections from different works, reconstructing the author’s body of work, and sometimes even projecting their own life onto the works, interpreting and constructing a subjective impression of the author.

This process mirrors the creation of Frankenstein's monster. The fragments of works taken out of the original context are analogous to the body parts taken out of different bodies to form Frankenstein's monster; as the reader's reinterpretation takes shape, something new is born from the interplay between the reader's interpretive reconstruction and the author's original material.

This new being doesn't wholly originate from the author, and it doesn’t entirely belong to the reader either. It's a collaborative creation of the two that transcends the control of either of them, holding the possibility of becoming a completely new entity, a Frankenstein's creature with its own life and soul.

In this prototype, players assume the role of a reader who engages in a dialogue with a poetry Frankenstein about to be born. They share their thoughts and life experiences with this entity, and as the conversation unfolds, they impart physical form to the poetry Frankenstein: giving it a head, torso, legs, and feet, each representing the four sections of a poem. Then, the poem takes shape based on the player's responses, invites the player to read the newly created poem, and seeks their feedback.The conversation then loops back to previous interactions, inquiring whether the player has developed any fresh interpretations to bestow upon it, resulting in the creation of newer poems. This prototype remains in a perpetual state that never reaches an end, allowing players to continue the cycle indefinitely, providing ongoing input.
